The Google Pixel 8a has been leaked on the US Cellular website, revealing a design with noticeable bezels, a centered display camera hole, and physical keys on the right-hand side. It will be available in four color options: green (Mint), white (Porcelain), black (Obsidian), and blue (Bay). The phone is expected to officially launch during Google I/O 2024 in May, featuring the Google Tensor G3 processor and a 6.1-inch AMOLED display.
Rumors suggest that the Pixel 8a may have a 120Hz panel and maintain the same camera setup as the previous year, with a 64-megapixel main camera and a 13-megapixel ultrawide unit on the back. It is expected to come with Android 14 pre-installed but will be upgradable to Android 15. The official announcement and release of the Pixel 8a are expected during the Google I/O event on May 14 and 15.
The leaked image of the Pixel 8a provides a glimpse of its design and color options, with the Mint color standing out among the familiar options for Pixel users. The bezels on the front are not as thin as some may have expected, and the phone features a traditional layout of physical keys. The leak came from Evan Blass, a well-known tech tipster in the industry, who shared a screenshot of the phone on the US Cellular website.
The Pixel 8a is anticipated to come in various colors, each with a unique name given by Google, appealing to Pixel users with its familiar design elements. The upcoming launch during Google I/O 2024 hints at new hardware and software upgrades, with the phone likely to be officially announced and released soon. The leaked information offers a sneak peek at what to expect from Google’s upcoming mid-range smartphone.
